RISKRECON RELEASE NOTE

February 20, 2020

Release Name: User List Download

Availability Date: February 12, 2020

License Requirements: Available to all Customers

RiskRecon is pleased to announce the release of a minor usability update to the user administration module. The new functionality enables user administrators to export to CSV the list of users and their permissions. This functionality was requested by customers with large RiskRecon user bases to help them in their user administration.

Using the User List Download

Accessing User Administration

The user administration module is accessed from My Account > System Administration > User Administration. Only users who have permission to administer user permissions can access the User Administration module.

Downloading the User List

Download the user list and related data using the Data icon shown below.

Using the Downloaded Data

The data is downloaded to a CSV file called “user-list.csv”. If opened in a spreadsheet, adjust the width of each column and set the User Roles column to wrap text. The file contains the same fields as displayed in the portal and shown in the screen capture above.

  • Name: User’s first and last name.
  • Email: User’s email address. This is also the user id.
  • User Roles: The permissions granted to the user account.
  • Last Login: The date the user account was last accessed.
  • Status: The status is either “Enabled” or “Disabled”. Enabled accounts are active and can be used to access the portal. Disabled accounts are inactive and cannot be used to access the portal until the status updated to an enabled state.

How is this Useful?

User access requirements change over time as personnel shift to new responsibilities and as people leave your organization. Periodic user access reaccreditation is an important tactic in managing user access well. Through periodic user reaccreditation, the system administrator sends user permissions to the employees manager or other authority for review.

The ability to download the RiskRecon user file facilitates the user reaccreditation process, enabling you to email permissions to employee managers for review. Exported data can also be correlated with other user access data sets such as active employee lists to aid in other user access administration processes.
